Bio
Faramarz is a scientist, environmental and management consultant, and artist whose career has been deeply rooted in the environmental principles. From a young age, he was drawn to both the natural world and artistic expression—crafting figures from bamboo shoots and constantly sketching. This lifelong interplay between science and art has remained a defining theme throughout his work.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Faramarz began to engage more seriously with visual art. Inspired by his sister, Fariba Bogzaran—a longtime artist, curator, writer, and scholar—and encouraged by his wife, Mojgan, he began channeling his scientific background into creative expression. As the global political and social climate grew increasingly unstable and facts were increasingly challenged by rising populism, his artwork shifted toward abstraction. His drawings from this period reflect the growing tension between truth and misinformation, fact and falsehood.
In 2021, Faramarz moved from city of Vancouver to Vancouver Island in search of a deeper connection with nature. There, he began painting on canvas using mixed media, further evolving his practice into abstract and modern art across various genres. His work continues to explore the intersections of science, nature, and the complexities of the human experience.
